Nov 25 2010 2004 oldsmobile alero. 1 remove the driver side wiper arm blade. Tighten the nut but not so tight the blade cannot move. 4 re install the drivers side wiper and put it back on so its position is the same as the passenger making them parallel start the car and test.

If not replacement is your best option. Turn off the car. Replace the wiper blade. My passenger side wiper does not move when turned on.

It probably stripped the wiper out you may get by with just tightening the wiper arm up. If the nut is a little loose which is common the wiper motor will turn the pivot but the wiper arm will not move. This is commonly caused by a wiper arm that is bent upward and does not supply the correct pressure to keep the blade edge on the windshield. The wiper arms are splined as well and have a hole through the base.

Try it out before continuing. 2000 f150 windshield wiper drive. A nut tightens onto the pivot stud to hold the wiper arm tightly to the pivot. Another solid indication that a problem with the windshield wiper arm exists is when the blade does not actually touch the windshield.

The driver side works goes back and forth but the passenger side moves a just a little and doesn t have enough read more. Nothing wrong with the arms. The pivots are usually splined with a stud protruding. Think under the black plastic cap where the arm mounts there is a 13 mm nut that has come loose just move the blade back to where it needs to be and tighten the nut.
